If you’ve put the time and effort into building the perfect streams to filter your website visitors, it can be frustrating when things aren’t going to plan.

But fear not, WOEXA is here! We’ve put together a list of the most common issues that might come up when you’re dealing with your WOEXA streams.

My colleagues are showing up in my streams!

Checking on your streams only to notice that it’s full of your colleagues rummaging around on your site. Annoying. But the good news is you can get them blocked.

You can do this either by clicking on ‘Settings’ in your WOEXA dashboard, and then clicking on Autotagging.

You then want to Create a New Tag and select ‘exclude’ from the ‘tag to add’ drop down. You’ll have to make some rules for this tag too, so under the ‘Create rules’ section find the ‘primary website’ option. Have this as ‘matched regex’ and then type in your website (good idea to type www.canddi.com in as well so we don’t start confusing things!)

Then you should have a squeaky clean stream full of your real visitors!

Visitors aren’t appearing in my email marketing stream

If someone is not appearing in the email stream it could be because that when generating the email integration code the utm_medium was not filled in as ‘email’ when you selected yes for Google Analytics. The referrer must also be a recognised email platform.

Contacts say ‘first time in the stream’

When you first create a new stream, WOEXA scans through all your existing contacts to see who matches the stream rules. Any contact who fits the criteria is added to the stream. Unfortunately, WOEXA doesn’t know when that contact first entered the stream, hence WOEXA defaults to providing the time that the stream was created.

Any new Contacts joining this stream after the stream has been created will have the correct time that they joined the stream set.
